Holiday Club 2012

Well what a week it was...

The Church was transformed into an athletics track surrounded by the dens of the teams of green, blue and red swimmers, rowers and runners. Flags were hung around the church and the podium had arrived, the gunge had been mixed and the water bombs were filled... It was time for Holiday Club to start!

Each day we looked at being part of Jesus’ team. We found out what it was like to be on His team and that anybody could be part of it, especially if we trust in Him and walk alongside Him.

The day began with an exercise warm up with the bearded ‘118’ characters followed up by a time of worship and the messy challenges (tomato spaghetti is surprisingly relaxing on your feet!).

Den time gave everyone a time to ask those tricky questions and listen and make new friends, old and young. The children were challenged to remember daily memory verses, which they did better than the leaders!

There was also time for craft and some team games including a mini olympics with straws for javelins and paper plates for discus'! Everyone joined back together after fun at crafts and games, with Bernie's 'trick of the day', a guest appearance from Glog the puppet and also the gunging of a leader! The morning finished with some great prayer times and our super mexican wave amen.

This was our biggest club ever with 122 children. It was a fabulous event which showed the hope of Jesus to our community with many of the children continuing or starting a new relationship with Jesus!
