Love Jesus – we are evangelistic (we have good news to share), evangelical, biblical, calling people to respond to Jesus, into a personal relationship with Him, to a life of prayer, discipleship, we are living sacrifices, walking in the power of the Holy Spirit
Love people – we are relational, everyone is welcome, we are informal, people-centred, compassionate, generous, making church accessible and intelligible to all (essential ingredients: fun, food and family!)
Love church – we are building the body of Christ, highly committed to one another, servant-hearted worshippers, we are all on the team, we are not consumers, we are members of the family of God
Love Burgess Hill and beyond … – we are a transforming presence in society, we want to make a difference beyond the church, we engage in the world, we fight injustice, we are sent out as missionaries to our friends, neighbours and work places in the power of the Spirit
- Prayer
- Youth, children, families
- Worship/music, preaching – gatherings
- Discipleship going deeper

- Serving our wider community
In May 2023 our local Bishop, Ruth Bushyager, Bishop of Horsham, brought us a proposal that The Point (a local Bishop’s Mission Order church plant) and St Andrew’s Burgess Hill should consider the possibility of joining together to become one new church family. St Andrew’s were looking for a new vicar and some fresh vision and The Point was also in need of re-energising after the challenges of COVID and have been seeking a permanent home for a number of years. The proposal to “blend”, making Will Kemp (the then Vicar of The Point) the Vicar of St Andrew’s, and Felicity Davies the new Associate Vicar (having been interim Priest in Charge at St Andrew’s since September 2023) seemed to be an answer to prayer for both churches.
Following a process of several months of prayer, discernment and consultation we came to a unanimous decision to go ahead with the Bishop’s proposal and launch the new church family at St Andrew’s on Easter Sunday, 31 March 2024.
We had a wonderful Licensing Service and celebration on Palm Sunday, 24 March. Bishop Ruth licensed Will and Felicty in their new roles and commissioned the new leadership team. We are so grateful for the way God has led us in this process, we are excited to see what He has in store for us all in this new season!
What’s new at St Andrew’s? Come and See!
