9am Holy Communion
This service uses a simple liturgy from Common Worship, and includes hymns and songs led on the organ or piano, with biblical preaching and the celebration of Holy Communion at the heart of worship. Prayer ministry is offered after the service.
The service is led by our Vicar, Will Kemp, with support from our team of lay readers and preachers. Guest preachers and celebrants are also invited from time to time.
The service is followed by refreshments, providing an opportunity for overlap and relationship-building with those arriving for the second morning service.
The service is welcoming to all, but is likely to attract those who prefer a quieter, more traditional communion service.
11am Contemporary Worship with groups for children and youth
Our second morning service begins at 11am, but everything is set up and ready to go at 10:30am for “Café time”. There is a bouncy castle, welcome team, and the opportunity for newcomers to see where the children’s and youth activities take place (Rider Hall, Youth Centre etc). Refreshments are served and everyone is welcomed into the church in anticipation of the start time of 11am.
This service is led by our Vicar Will Kemp and a team of lay leaders. The service consists of contemporary worship songs led by Stu Barbour, Eugene Haban and the worship team, biblical preaching, creative all-age elements and prayer ministry. There are groups for children and young people led/co-ordinated by our Children’s Pastor, Lucy Marsh, and our Youth Pastor, Dean Gargano. About 6 times a year the 11am service is “altogether” – an all-age service with no children/youth groups. There is Holy Communion about once a month.
Although not exclusive in any way, and welcoming to all, this service is likely to attract those who prefer more informal worship, and families with children aged 0-18.
The Six
This service is led by our Vicar, Will Kemp, our Youth Pastor, Dean Gargano, and a team who have a particular heart for freer, less structured worship and prayer. The service attracts young people but is open to all, and we are encouraging young adults and youth to take a lead. There are extended times of contemporary worship led by Stu Barbour, Eugene Haban and others, biblical preaching and prayer ministry. There is an openness to creativity and experimenting with forms of prayer as led by the Holy Spirit. We can also be creative with the worship space, lighting, and seating, etc.
This service is currently taking place on the third Sunday of each month, but we hope it will increase in frequency in the future.
10am Wednesday Holy Communion
This is an informal service of Holy Communion following Common Worship Liturgy, with hymns and songs led on piano. This is a smaller gathering and is very friendly and welcoming to newcomers. The service is followed by refreshments.
